Dr. Garry W. Baldwin
“Pastor Garry” has Ministered and Pastored Churches in North Carolina and Kentucky since 1977. His first ministry was as Minister of Youth and Education at Grove Park Baptist Church from 1977-1983 He holds degrees from The Citadel, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and various post-graduate degrees and honors. Dr. Baldwin has led conferences in Family Relationships, Church Growth and Development, and Church Leadership. He has taught Seminary Extension Courses on Pastoral and Church Ministerial Care. He has also led conferences at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, China, Malawi Baptist Seminary in Malawi, Africa, Montreal, Canada, Singapore,  and Institute of Biblical Teaching in South Africa, and Missionary Retreat in Nepal. Currently Dr. Baldwin is also teaching “Pastoral Counseling” at New Life Theological Seminary in Charlotte as an adjunct professor. Garry has been married for 41 years to Cheryl Tucker and has 3 Children and 2 Grandchildren: Jeremiah married to Meghan and Grandson Ransom, Anna Grace, and Caleb married to Caitlin and Granddaughter Haven.

Cheryl Baldwin
Dr. Baldwin’s wife Cheryl, is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Early Childhood Education, Cheryl has been involved in Education leadership since 1976. She helped start a Christian School, a Preschool Development Center, and taught and trained leadership all over the world. She is co- director of Midwood’s Parent Day Out ministry and supports and helps in many other ways in the ministry.

Anna Grace Baldwin
Anna Grace is a 2009 graduate of the UNC at Charlotte with her degrees in Public Health and Health Communications.  Anna serves as Midwood’s Student minister. She has been instrumental in the development of all of our programs in that area. She has led and taught groups of children all over the world with her parents.

Pastor John Maiden

John Maiden serves as a Pastor at Midwood Baptist Church. By God’s grace, Pastor John was voted on and accepted unanimously as the next Lead Pastor of Midwood Baptist Church in July 2022. John is excited and thankful to be serving alongside Pastor Garry Baldwin over the next year as they enter into a season of leadership succession. John is married to his incredible wife Sarah, and they have three children: John Duke (6), Sadie (4), and Harrison (2). After John graduated with his MDIV from Southeastern Theological Seminary in 2016, he served over 5 years as the Associate Pastor at The Church at Perry Creek in Raleigh, NC. In 2022, Perry Creek sent John to begin a new ministry at Midwood Baptist Church. In his free time, John enjoys all things sports, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
