LORD’S SUPPER ON SUNDAY

This Sunday (November 1) at Midwood Church we will take the LORD’S Supper of Holy Communion together. You can participate in this experience in person at 2029 Mecklenburg Avenue or from your home by joining in live at 11am on Facebook.

The Scripture passages we will study on Sunday are found in Luke 19, Matthew 21, Mark 11, and I Corinthians 11:23-29. The title of the message will be:

“Thankful to be a Saint
Celebrating our Salvation

Communion (or the Lord’s Supper) is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus to remember his sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant. The elements of bread and wine/juice are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. Communion is not a means of salvation, rather it is a testament of a believer’s faith in the atoning work of the cross. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, please join us to remember his GREAT sacrifice!

If you join in online, make these preparations for each person in your home or group before Sunday’s service:

  1. Pour grape Juice (or any juice) in a small cup
  2. Break off a small piece of bread or a cracker
  3. Follow along in the service by eating the bread and drinking the juice
  4. Share that you participated in the comment section on Facebook

If you do not consider Christ to be your Savior and are not ready to participate, then feel free to sit back, listen, and enjoy the service.

We look forward to worshiping together with you on Sunday!
